America's Next Top Model- Camille McDonald

"THIS IS MY SIGNATURE WALK AND ITS GOING TO MAKE ME FAMOUS"- Camille McDonald (ANTM Cycle 2).

Camille McDonald was a household name in 2004, serving as the most popular contestant on America's Next Top Model- Cycle 2. Each week viewers tuned in to see her amazing pictures and Diva attitude. Camille was known to be the girl that judges would constantly have to tell to humble herself, because she was not a Supermodel yet. They even compared her to Dina Ross through a photo shoot and with her attitude. Could the way Camille was portrayed on TV a reality or did she just get a bad reputation through Hollywood being fake?

After the filming of ANTM, I had the opportunity to meet Camille and I meet one of the sweetest women in the entire world and she explained to me how everything is not how it always seems. I remember watching episodes of the show and thinking why is my favorite contestant being such a you know what week after week. I noticed how her and the winner of Cycle 2 always constantly battled one another and how she seemed like the villain. Ouch... did any of this affect Camille's career. I even heard rumors that ANTM Producers actually decide what contestants can and cannot do for a year after the show. This may be one of the reasons that our beloved Camille was never really seen like some of the other success stories from the show. In fact a lot of the other girls were divas just as Camille (i.e: Eva-the-Diva), but she was the one girl that ANTM decided to make look like a villain.

With a bad reputation left to fix and now being 29, many fans are wondering "Where is Camille?" If you have any where abouts to where Camille is and how to get her to respond to this posting... Please help us, she has many fans who are still concerned with her career aspirations and would love to know what she is doing today.

Dress Me too

Have you ever noticed that Chanel, Hugo Boss, or Escada does not have a PLUS SIZE or BIG and TALL Size? When you are heavier is it fair for this individual to go without wearing designer garments? Being a fashion junkie is a passion that I have had for years and I love wearing the best of the best, only recently have I gotten to the level of my career where I can call up a stylist or a designer friend to whip together my next outfit for a big event. This is a perk that you get when you are on the rise in the entertainment world, but what about the larger crowd. Many plus size consumers have the money to buy the same things I wear, however it does not come in their sizes. Of course if you are MoNique, Anthony Anderson, or Drew Carey you can get someone to custom make your next garment, but what about the person that works at Bank of America or who is the local hair stylist in Anywhere, America? They cannot call up Betsy and have her whip up a size 18/20.

One New Yorker mentioned to me that some of the smaller brands are catering to plus size, but the big boys have not decided to join this team just yet. If I were big I would tell them, don't worry about me, because the new O'Neal Appeal collection is coming out this fall!

Modeling 101- Part 1

How do I get into the world of modeling? Their are so many people that want to be ANTM and this is a tricky business to get into, because there are so many schemers that know about all of these dreams that people have and they want to bank off them.... Meet FBM's new found friend Modeste Golston (17, Shreveport,Louisiana). Modeste sent me an email that stated her passion and how she wants to go into the world of modeling here is a little of it...

"MY NAME IS MODESTE GOLSTON AND I AM 17 YEARS OLD. I STAY IN SHREVEPORT,LOUISIANA AND I WEIGH 100LBS.,5'4 IN HEIGHT. I WANT TO KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP ME ON MODELING AS IN GETTING ME PICKED UP. I REALLY WORK HARD FOR WHATEVER I BELIEVE IN AND MODELING IS MY PASSION. I TAKE IT SERIOUSLY AND I WANT LET YOU DOWN. PLEASE HELP ME B/C IT'S ALWAYS BEEN A DREAM OF MINE AND I STAND UP FOR WHAT I BELIEVE IN. After reading this email I felt exactly where she was coming from, when I walked into this business as a model, I too had that same sense of urgency for Super Model status, however I did not realize what it was going to take to rise to the top. Tyra Banks has done a wonderful job at showcasing the glamorous side of modeling, however I am still waiting for her to show what a real model's apartment looks like, and what it is really like, when you are waiting for a paid gig's check to clear. In the media today we showcase a glamorous lifestyle when modeling, music, or TV are involved; however like our Simply Featured Model "Yago Monique" has quoted " All the glamorous jobs are not always that glamorous."

First thing first, never pay for the following...
1. Representation ( Your management/agent gets paid when you do)
2. Fashion Show Fees
3. TO BE PUBLISHED IN A MAGAZINE
(I left a few off, please add them readers... we are interactive -LOL-)

SEX is a another thing that is passed around like candy in the business, if someone is offering your stardom for a picture, please just save up your money email me and I will refer you to a great photographer in my data base. Your body is not worth a $200-$700 photo session or pretend fame!

Just be careful and equip yourself with all the tools needed to model before jumping on the bandwagon. Be honest with yourself, set your goals, and don't give up! This business is not easy.

Independent Label

When a designer label is added to any garment it takes it from normal to explosive. You could have a simple hand bag that is plain and brown, but add a Chanel emblem and it gives this simple handbag the credit it needs to be "famous."

Designers are famous in their own way. You have your A list designs... Versace, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, and Chanel. On your B list you will find Hugo Boss, Diesel, Calvin Klein, Lacoste? Wait could some of these be lower on the list of "famour" or maybe even A list? I mean everyone knows who the major designer stars are, but what about the B, C, and D list designs. You cannot forget about Ed Hardy, here lately on every corner that is the only T-shirt you need (suggestion if you don't have one, you must get one fast). But even though this store is in a noteworthy shopping area in the fashion capitol aka New York City, is it considered B or C list? You tell me... List your A, B, C, and D list designer labels.

Dress for Success!

I love it... Ladies and Gents Ms. Beyonce' Knowles is currently following the slogan "Dress for Success." When growing up in high school I remember being a member of the club FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and on some Friday's we would have to dress for success. This would consist of guys wearing a pair of nice dress pants, button down shirt, with tie, and blazer. As for women they would wear their pantie hose, business skirts, and of course a dress shoe. Our motto was "Dress The Part!"

Well I guess Beyonce' was taught something very similar because recently at the BET Awards she performed her hit "Get Me Bodied," and she began her performance in an outfit that reminded me of an Oscar! As many of her fans know Beyonce' wants to be the first artist to hold a Grammy, Tony, and an Oscar. Now on this year very few people think that she was cheated out of an award for her performance in "Dream Girls," and many people think that acting is way out of her league. Well regardless of what we may think, this woman has decided that she will at least dress the part... What do you think?

Red Carpet Beauty

Welcome to the Beauty Spread where we'll discuss all the latest and greatest in makeup and learn tips and techniques from the pros!

In this issue we'll shine the spotlight on "Red Carpet Make-up". You'll learn how to re-create all the red-hot looks that rock the red-carpet. With make-up, anyone can be transformed into a star! Our journey will begin at the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards held Jan 15th.This year, red lips and smokey eyes ruled supreme.

The first look we will re-create is Cameron Diaz' sexy, smoldering look she paired with her newly darkened hair.

CREATE CAMERONS LOOK! We'll teach you step by step how to re-create this sexy look so you shine like a star at your next event!

1. COMPLEXION You want to start by evening out the complexion. Dab concealer on any imperfections with your ring finger. Be sure to even out any undereye-circles and blemishes. Follow this step by applying a generous amountof liquid or powder foundation.

2. EYES Next let's get started on the eyes. Begin by adding a neutral toned color all over the lid. Then on the lid add a latte-colored shade of brown on the lid. Sweep a touch of this same color along the lower lid and blend well. Now apply a set of false lashes with clear adhesive. Follow this step by lining the lid with black liquid liner. Apply a coat of black mascara to unify lashes together. Finish the eyes by shaping brows with a powder brow pencil.

3. CHEEKS On the apples of the cheeks apply a cotton-candy pink cream blush. You can apply the blush with either your fingers or synthetic foundation brush. Add a touch of luminizer along the orbital bone for a glowing effect. Blend well.

4. LIPS Lastly, line the lips with a fire-engine red lip pencil and apply a rich, red cream lipstick for instant glamour and sex appeal. Top off the look with clear gloss to give the lips a shine that will stop traffic. Now you're ready to shine like a star at your next event!

CREATE BEYONCE'S LOOK! We'll teach you step by step how to re-create this sexy look so you shine like a star at your next event!

Then with a matte black shadow, liberally sweep the color on the entire lid and up through the crease. Blend well. Sweep this same black color all the way along the lower lid. Reinforce the deep shadow with a black eyeliner pencil on the inside rim ofthe eye. Now apply a set of big false lashes with adhesive. Follow this step by lining the lid generously with black liquid liner. Apply a coat of black mascara to unify lashes together. Finish the eyes by shaping brows with a powder brow pencil.

3. CHEEKS On the apples of the cheeks and along the cheek bone apply a peachy-pink powdered blush. Apply the blush with a blush brush. Add a touch of luminizer along the orbital bone for a glowing effect. Blend well.

4. LIPS Lastly, apply a pink cream lipstick to hydrated lips. Try these hot red-carpet looks and stay tuned for our next issue for more exciting makeup news.
